whatever happened to pure instrumental trance?? It seems all these great artists (tiesto and AVB, Ferry, PVD included) have this desire to put vocals in all their new productions and I don't like it.

Vocals are good in a track like In My Memory or U Shine but the majority of trance tunes should be non vocal. Of course, this is my opinion (and I'm sure some of you share it) but I long for the days of pure instrumental tracks like Open Your Eyes (original), Viola remix by Armin, Voyage by Yahel, etc etc.

I guess that's why I can't wait for My Religion and Avalon.

I agree but there still are plenty of instrumental tunes coming out

Good trance should be 70% Instrumental and 30% vocal tracks

Yeah, that sounds about right. It just seems that some of the big boys like Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, etc want to get out of the "rave stereotype" and they think that by putting vocals in their songs will make them seem like "real artists".

Almost all of Tiesto's remixes lately have been of vocal tracks. I really hope his new single NYANA which will be on the CD Nyana is non vocal. It's been a long time since we heard a real banger from Tijs.

That said, 3rd Earth is still a good track.

I totally agree !! Most of the vocals are really crappy/cheesy nowadays. I dislike vocals for years now and I am a real instrumental-orientated Trance-lover. That's why your avatar is one of the best CD's of all time

Thanks mate....sometimes vocals can be good. Like the greatest Cd of all time (Magik 6)...that has one pure vocal track (Tiesto's Silence remix) and it's great. But it's not the best one on there.

GREAT vocal tracks are rare in my opinion and Dj's should only remix or produce a vocal track if it's going to be phenomenal. It seems as if they all put vocals in tracks now, just for the hell of it. And most of it just ain't trance!

I guess Tiesto and the rest are maturing, but part of the appeal of trance for me was the melodies and bass and unique uplifting sounds. Trance doesn't NEED vocals...it's already genius without them!
