If it were the 600, i'd say go for the pioneer. The XTC however, is one of the best mixers our there. Its also quite durable, unlike the pioneer

I am seriously trying to get one Dateq XTC mixer just because it's most suited for trance mixing, thats why armin van buuren using one in his studio. What about it's durability? Pioneer does have lot's of useless crap. BPM-counters, effects, 4 channels, for example.

I had the Dateq XTC, and it is nog an industry standard for the world, but it is an industry standard in Holland. Most disco's here have Dateq mixers. I personally loved the Dateq, it has larger faders than the pioneer. Now i upgraded to a bigger Dateq, 3 channels wasn't enough. But: if you buy a Dateq, it wil work forever. Maybe you have to change the faders after a few years, but they are easy replaceble. I've seen Dateq mixers in disco's aged 20 years or more, and they still work like they just came out of their box. And if you need the extra stuff on the pioneer (BPM counter highlighted) then you really shouldn't mix.

I have talked with one dealer here in Sweden and he says it's hard because the distributors are only located in Holland. I realllyyy waaaant it i think, but i need to hear more opinions from those who own a Dateq XTC mixer.

Hey apa, for more info over Dateq, check their site: Dateq. If you want one, you should find a dutch store with international mailorder. If you have problems with the dutch language, please notify me, and i will help you out.

What is the mixer that Tiesto likes to use? Or Paul van dyk for that matter?

Here is a movie of Club Panama in Amsterdam. Tijs is mixing on a pioneer it looks like, which makes use of it's 4 channels as you can see:

Movie 1

Movie 2

Funny how he fans himself with a record...

8 channels anyone???

The dateqs look really nice, but I haven't seen them in the states......

I'm sorry for you DaveSaenz, but Dateq only sells its mixers in the Netherlands. You could probably let them deliver in the states, but those things are only build for 230V. I have the LPM 7.3 (smaller version of the GPM 8.3), and i can assure u: IT ROCKS

No, not for techno.
It is made for trance and house but not for techno.
Techno dj's prefere mixers with small faders.
The dateq mixers have 150 mm (or 100, I don't really know but when I saw them and used them they where long ) faders so not very handy with techno.

The DJM500 does have the short faders and a really good/quick crossfader.
