The sub struggles at party-ish levels, but for room ambience and non-action movies the system's great!

yea I was watching a movie... and the sub doesnt handle explosions and stuff all that well... kinda sinks out until normal sound is restored... but oh well, I dont care - I watch the movies at night and my mom wouldnt exactly enjoy the rumbling.

Vlad - this may sound utterly ridiculous, but how would that whole system sound for production monitoring?

I need new sound for my desktop computers, and was just going to pick up another pair of monitors (It's supremely irritating to move my DJ monitors to a position where I can do production comfortably), but I figure for gaming etc. this might be a better option.

Thoughts?

I dont produce at home... for recording mixes, they are solid... just adjust the bass/treble to how you like it and youre good. If youre doing gaming too, they are great too.

As far as production goes, a great bang for your buck monitor are Behringer Truths.

Cool - well I'll look into both then.

I've got a pair of Rp-5's I use for dj'ing now that I like very much, but I think i want the 5.1 for gaming.

Or you could have just looked at the sub and see that it says logitech. The model is X530, 70watts/140peak.

my speakers rock. had them for 4 years now & they still work like a dream. Route both my digital tv & pc through stereo so just have 1 button to press to flick from both.

I have them in beech finish, and they handle a lot of demanding sounds, esp the drum & bass & ambient stunningly well for £120 that they cost me at the time.
