got his innercity 99 mix cd in amsterdam when he was basically unheard of outside holland. true story
i worshipped that cd.
around the same time i was getting into progressive and the 1st cd that proper got me into it was expeditions.
and that had the silence -the original fade mix.
and i remember that tune just blue all of us away -
became a total anthem to us like
then it went to number 1 in the singles chart in ireland, a progressive house tune at number 1 in the charts, that was big!!!!
that's a triumph for ireland i think, proud of that one
anyways basically how tiesto became worldwide famous was through his mix of this one tune.
and what annoys me is at least 50% (and im bein very generous) of people who got into him through that tune thought it was 'his' tune and just totally credited the tune to him.
like he wrote it and came up with.
everyone was "blah blah what a tune, this guys great."
and that's what pissed me off, and the fact that i found the remix mediocre at best didn't help
and to this day you see his name bein credited to all sorts of fuckin trance tunes on youtube etc that he has nothin to do with.
plus he just gradually got more commercial.
so innercity live will always hold a special place in my mind :P
but tiesto can take a walk as far as im concerned.
aaaah now i shall never speak of him again on here
rant over
another long ass post by me, my fingers are on speed
