Dont forget that Shanahan is always training... so if there is an injury, he will come back... and if need be... the Rangers will make an offer to Sundin he wont be able to refuse.

seeing as they have raped in the first round the last 2 years, i like my chances. the odds are lower for your overrated underachieving canadiens winning the stanley. are they still searching for the next roy? how long before price gets traded?

how are they underachieving?

they went further than the blue shirts last year. They are ranked number 4 in the nhl in prospects...which means they improved the Eastern Conference winning roster with 2 huge signings (both have stanley cup rings btw) , and have a farm team that is stacked with talent ready to come up if and when there are any injuries. This is at all positions, including having an ace in the hole in an NHL veteran like Marc Denis in case someone gets hurt in net. Bob Gainey has copied the Red Wings way of managing and it has been working. Every year we have at least 3 players ready for the nhl...

The rangers were ranked 8th in prospects but fell down a few when their best one unfortunately died. Very sad stuff, especially since Cherepanov was heavily being touted as the future of the orginization. Their depth is suspect, and if they lose anyone they are in trouble. Lundkvist is the hope for the team, they will go as far as he takes them (which can be far, he is for real).

Marcus Naslund is a joke, wait till he goes down with injury...Wade Redden...yeah right, he was one of the main reasons the best team in the Eastern conference the last few years (Ottawa Senators) choked...well along with goaltending.

oh yeah
total Stanley Cups..

New York Rangers: 4

Montreal Canadiens 24

Vlad...I don't think Shanahan will play this year, the rangers have no cap room left.

Give me odds on the bet.

ps Price has won at every level but the NHL. He only has a year under his belt so give it time...at least we had a Roy

they didn't go further than the rangers you idiot. they lost in the second round just like the rangers after having almost lost in the first round to the lowly bruins. nice try. also most of their stanley cups came during the time when the nhl was unfairly bias towards canadien teams. notice the leafs suddenly stopped winning stanley cups. rangers have better team d than the canadiens with a much better more experiened goalie (won in the olympics and a legitimate swedish league). if they can score even remotely better than last year they could easily go to the finals. remember we lost to the stanley cup loser, where yuo guys lost to rj umberger and a group of rejects.

when the leafs suddenly stopped winning stanley cups, why did the habs still win them at a greater pace then any other team, the oilers had a dynasty and the flames racked up 2? The edmonton oilers won more in 4 years than the rangers in their history. Detroit also won quite a few in your "biased canadian generation." The shitty Islanders did the same. Long Island had more success than Manhattan.

also odds shouldn't matter as there is no legitimate way to determine them. to say you should get more money is absurd unless you are willing to admit it is more likely they win than lose which contradicts your statements earlier. and if you say it's more likely they lose in the first round (based on nothing) then i should be the one making more money as i'm taking the riskier bet.
