well the state supreme court can't do anything because 8 is an amendment to the state constitution and the ca high court is obligated to enforce that document. the united states constitution however trumps the state constitution and this could possibly play out in the u.s. supreme court assuming there is a case that state rights don't allow for discrimination.

Santa Clara County is 55% no. If a county like that was 80% NO, too, would help the gap quite a bit.

well if it passes it will be a blow to california's legacy of progressive leadership in this country, but i'm glad 1a, 2, 11 and 12 are winning and 4, 5, 6, 7 is losing. hopefully measure b passes too even though i can't find any data on the local measures.

we're talking about different measures...

santa clara county's measure b sends bart to san jose and connects it with caltrain making the entire bay area connected by a continuous light rail loop that saves 12,000 gallons of gas/day and removes 50,000 cars/day from the road.

sf county measure b is something about health and pension benefits.
