question: ever since the lawsuit was filed, has the cops stopped the harassments or its still the same as before? |
Well I saw two cops stop a guy walking out the door on Sunday for some chit chat.... Later-on,I heard they were walking around upstairs.
I have been stopped driving away from Zone. As it has already been said, you have the right to refuse a search. The officer attempted to get my consent to search my vehicle and I simply asked him, "well.. what would happen if I said no?". He didn't reply but he didn't search the car lol.
The first time I went to Zone, I was scared shitless... I had heard all the stories and vowed never to step foot in there, thinking that at least some of the folklore must be true...
I'm 30 years-old. I consider myself to be relatively mature and put-together. I was very naive to the "scene" and partying up until last year. My first trip to Zone was the Civic long-weekend of '08.
I walked in with two CZ veterans; they laughed at my nervousness. As I was getting searched, they entered the club; not realizing I was still with the bouncers. I will never forget walking towards the dark entrance of the club and standing there, intimidated by the loud beats and flashes of glo sticks lol, furious with my friends for leaving me... too scared to walk in until they came to find me.
Now? lol - Like Barb said, I feel safer at CZ than I do at any other club in the city. I've been to a few other after-hour clubs that I certainly felt unsafe inside. All of the bouncers know me by name, (and I them). I have no complaints in regards to the staff.
The patrons? Such a mixed bag of people lol... but apart from the music... the people keep me comming back. Everyone wants to have a good time. As cheesey as it sounds, there is a family-type vibe in the place amongst the regs (and y'a know what? - I have absolutely no shame in calling myself a regular there). I do always ensure that I'm aware of my surroundings but at the same time, I have confidently walked-in on my own many many times without hesitation.
The music is f'n amazing. The vibe is f'n amazing. To the holier-than-thou-art CZ-haters: seriously... your loss
