everybody was tranceaddict in training. I still live in fucking Ukraine, so when i had no internet, i just could buy illegal copies of Dream Dance or Club Rotation compilations and just record videoclips from VIVA (German music channel). So when i got internet at home first somewhere at the end of 2003, i was so impressed that so many tracks released, but i didn't know about artists. In the middle of 90ies i knew many artists and tracks but later it become very hard to find some new tracks. So i started from 56K modem. I had to spend 2 night to download my first set Ferry Corsten Retrospective Mix. From that set i started to collect livesets and search for tracklists, or for unknown tracks. You just have to start. I even just listen different radioshows and search for some unknown tracks in livesets.

Me, I've been into it for one year now, since I moved to Canada, that's why I dont think i would be really helpful with tracklist from back in 2000-2007. Anyway, that's why Im getting live sets and checking TLs so that I know for future sets

BTW, thanks for the advice and support, I really appreciate it

paca

you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice if you don't go and download old sets and buy old compilations. oakenfold's '99 essential mixes, tiesto's first isos compilations, sasha & digweed's communicate and northern exposure compilations, armin's basic instinct, markus' old stuff...the list is endless. the music now is good but i don't think i could listen to most of it like i can to the old stuff. on the other hand '99 was when i started clubbing so i have a nostalgic feeling when i think back to the beginning...

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

You're right. I found website with old (very old) house sets, actually where house came from. So i downloaded livesets of Frankie Knuckles and other house DJ's from even end of 70ies, many 80ies sets. It's very interesting for me to listen old sets. I collected all sets, different styles as i like electronic music, not only trance. SO in my collection i can find sets of Westbam from 1990, some hardcore Carl Cox sets from the beggining of 90ies, Paul van Dyk sets from 1992, nowadays hardstyle guru The Prophet when he started from hardcore and his recorded sets since 1992. That list almost countless. So i can folow every DJ, what he did in last century, what he does in present time, and what to expect in the future from him. It's really very interesting. Tracks from sets of one DJ can be found in other sets of other DJ, so titles goes from one tracklist to another, as fans of Carl Cox can know some tracks from Tomcraft sets for example, so i just download different sets, listen them and search, if there are some matches with unknown tracks in different sets. A lot of work, but you will be glad, when find some title. As you can see in my signature, i tried to compile tracklist for those DJs, but don't have time sometimes to update it recently.

Woow!! It's very good to have the advice of some oldschool TA!
I've also heard that PVD's sets from 99-01 were pretty good too. I'll check out some old sets (specially the old Markus got my attention)

I hope you're right, i was thinking that the track was a total ID & unreleased one. Do you remember the name of the compilation? I'll look for the track if you tell me the comp name.

Ah, by the way, 24.Skytech - Comet

No sorry, dont remember.
But I think/have the feeling that its an ID of which one doesnt has to look into the (lets say) 'standard' playlist of
Markus w/ respect to producer/remixer (allthough usually Markus has a very wide/open-minded perspective on that).

This ID is really something spectacular.
The track lasts for almost 10 mins, is very repetitive, but sooo hypnotizing.
Very good track to build up the set.

I know that Markus posted in TA, maybe we could ask him by the IDs, just an idea...

And yes, the ID is amazing, is more trancier/hypnotizing than most of the supersaw "Trance" crap made by a lot of uplifting producers, for instance, Paul Miller.
