I wouldnt be surprised if he went nuts this year and killed it on his tours. New armin = maybe close to the old pvd ? I guess we will have to wait and see next time he is here.
don t make that comparison .... its like apples an oranges

no that wasnt what i was getting at. the songs i listed are and were big commercial tracks, but they have nice big buildups that the crowd reacted insanely too. when i look out at the crowd jumping up and down, with their hands in the air, it just adds something to the music as a whole. i just wasnt feeling that much on friday.

no one wants to hear all commercial tracks when they go out but as for me i love buildups and really hard fast tracks.

i went and listened to the mp3 of the nov 03 roxy set and enjoyed it tremendously. so many good tracks with such a great pace to the set.

I really enjoyed SF02, frankly, until november 02 @ roxy, I really enjoyed most PvD sets I went to (mostly in europe). Feb 03 was good (after a really shitty nov02 set). From Feb03 and going through most of 04, his sets were 'bleh' or 'ok', nothing to write home about. I would say that his set last friday was likely the best in a long time, thought I must admist not liking the beginning much, too much fluff imho. Was this set better than SF02? Not even close, was it better than a lot of the mediocre sets that I have attended recently: yes. Would I attend another PvD gig if this had been my first: yes. This would not have been the case for a lot of 04 gigs.

ps.: Yes, I realize that I really enjoyed his Long Island gig in 04.

Just listened to PvDs latest fritz and there were quite a few tracks he played in this that he played at Roxy:

Drax & Scott Mac - Must have been a dream (Mac Zimms Remix)
Fischerspooner - Never win
Octagen & MIDOR - Rush Hour
Bennison - Soloplex
Marc van Linden - Speed of Sound
...and a few others that I cannot be arsed listing

Might be worth checking out if any of you get the chance.

In the beginning there was Jack. And Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box Jack boldly declared "Let there be house!" And house music was born. I am the creator and this is my house and in my house there is only house music. But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes our house and our house music and you see no one man owns house because house music is a universal language spoke and understood by all. You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body and as I told you before this is our house and our house music. In every house you understand, there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack.

Didn't this just start now? 2pm EST? Or are you referring to the last "latest fritz"?
