yeh u do understand it hehe. its the same scoring system but i think it makes it a tad easier for competitors (getting one rating for each skill which is a fair avarage) and it makes no difference for us judges. they get percentage marks for each skill because its 25 marks each from 4 judges. that way for each skill they can see their overall percentage ability for each skill, which may not include the "personal" score do to the fact its based on individual opinion, without seeing which judges gave them bad or good marks. after this we can avarage out the percentage scores for each of the 4 skills to get the competitors overall avarage score, and the competitor with the highest percentage score at the end is the winner, then 2nd highest = 2nd place etc...

Just wanna say the rating system with personal opinions is REALLY REALLY FAKE!
Its not fair for other competitors.
Like i c dumondetrancer is into shokk and harder stuff, he will always prefer a set with some harder stuff in it.
Its really bad like this.

Just UPLOAD those mixes somewhere on the site here and let All the members here judge on it!!!
Thats fair!!

Not with 4 or 5 people who judge and influence eachoter.
So I suggest you guys put the best mixes on TA or somewhere else and let the members rate on it!

while i partially agree with what your saying about fairness in judging, letting everyone on the board judge would take an enormous amount of time and the marks won't reflect the person's work. the judges (to my knowledge) have a solid foundation of mixing and of trance music....having a few judges who know what they're listening for is better than having many judges who may not care what happens.

And who would provide the bandwith for that kind of downloading ??
We're having enough troubles as it is, finding some space for only 4 judges.
What would we have to do to allow over 1000 (= 1/8 th of ALL TA members) to download 20 mixes, each being about 80mb big ???

i totally agree 4 judges CAN influence each other, but, NO-ONE is forced to enter the compo, are they ?? If the mixers don't like it the way we handle things now, don't enter next time.
All I can say is, where handling it THE SAME way as last compo, and this time, we had out 20 entries filled within a WEEK, so it's popular, wich indicates people like what we're doing (and like the fact that we judge their skills).

Speaking of bandwith, anyone know an FTP that we can use next time

Listen, u have 5 judges, one loves hardtrance, one loves pvd and the others love tiesto. Only 3 different tastes ......(just saying something here)

Thats not fair, a thing that they can do is getting the 5 best ones and put these online, so ppl can vote on these 5 best ones...

And if they announce it on the board there WILL be ppl who rate it
ANOTHER THING they can do is just remove the name of the dj who spun it. So people dont know which person made the mix, thats pretty fair I think!

So going for the 5 best and put them online....Im only making it fair for all competitors

About the personal favour ...
We won't rate that

Put them online where ?????
The ONLY thing standing in the way of allowing more entries into the compo, is the amount of webspace we can get a hold of. That's our BIGGEST problem, not the downloading, not the listening to every mix 5 times or more, not listening VERY carefully to every detail, 'cause without the space, there ain't no comp ... simple as that

Removing names:
this was an issue in the first comp, we decided not to do it, cause, WHO will be doing it ??? Who will keep track of wich mix is spun by wich DJ ?? Someone is bound to do it, and it can be spread out using ICQ, MSN, MAIL, phone even, so why bother, it's bound to get leaked anyway ?

different tastes (not that it matters anymore)
I can pretty much say we have 4 different tastes
=> I like it epic and vocal
=> Dumonde_trancer likes it Hard
=> Starf0x is a PVD addict (if you didn't already know )
=> Neo is a prog. fan

it seems strange that you are sooo concerned about this, when you arent even in the competition. If the competitors arent worried, why should you be?

okay sorry mate but ur annoyin me now. I was gonna post that we have 4 very well skool'd judges who will judge fairly and without predjudice. But Cyrax beat me too it. As for lettin the TA's vote for their fav that has a major flaw besides webspace and that is something like 80% of the TA's know shit all bout decent trance and just like what is currently cool to like, i.e. Tiesto So im very happy with the current situation and Ste i like ur Scoring System. As for judges wanting to keep markin anonymous come on u wimps own up to the marks ur gonna give people, u will be giving them for a reason so if some1 wants to complain about that score then im sure u'll be able to tell them why u marked them like that

Peace
