i quite disagree. i think with rita it was all an act. a mirroring technique he was using to fit in (something psychopaths to do). not to say that he didn't like her. he appreciated her loyalty and kindness and wanted to do right by her, but consider his lack of ...anything following ritas death. there wasn't an depth of emotion there, between them
yet with lumen he truly feels empathy for her. his feelings for her are genuine. you can't expect him to have the same type of emotions as a regular human, and you can't compare it to the superficial relationship with rita. Here he has found someone damaged irrevocably like him. he has a partner
