BTW after seeing Deadmau5 on NYE, I would say they have just claimed all of 2009.
Deadmau5 > Sasha = 2009
Hope he will be playing at Vanguard or Avalon at least twice this year. |
Sorry but you're way off base. Yes, the Mau5 (they ) have made an undeniable impact in 2008 but Sasha has been at the top of his game for well over a decade, and keeps reinventing himself, not sticking to one sound or musical identity, like deadmau5 has.
In fairness, it's not his fault about the sound thing, just that he hasn't been on the scene long enough to change his direction. To be honest the sound is getting very tired, and I hear tracks that i think are mau5 and they turn out to be cascade (etc).
Also, there was just as much impact and hype from involver2 and Sasha's gigs this last year compared to the supergroup Deadmau5.
I've now finally seen the other thread (virgin megastore signing in LA) with people stating why there's a lack of respect for him (such as slagging off other DJ's, demanding lists of tracks played by previous DJ's etc.) - are these true? Can anyone confirm (first hand, not heard it from a mate etc)?
