As for 5spd and manual... i'll admit, I'm lazy, that is one of my main things, I know it's not hard, i've driven standard before... there is more than just my laziness factoring into this:

1) Both my brother and my mother cannot drive manual, so if they need the car for any reason (since we all share our cars essentially for various reasons), they would not be able to...

2) Often times friends would be driving my car for various reasons again, could be a roadtrip, or they're driving my car as DD, or they could be simply borrowing it... they also do not know how to drive manual.

I know manual is fun, it's ALOT of fun! Just not a reasonable feature of my purchase right now...

This DOWNSVIEW place has this in all their Mazda 3s lol! I know it's only a few hundred bucks after install, and it's just some knockoff, but it's cool looking!!! Really hope this doesn't factor into my getting it from that hahahaha!

I can see the need for your family to use the car...but friends? that shouldnt matter. seriously.

Yeah I know I don't need that lol... but would be cool.

I would never use it for the movie, mainly music and mp3 player, plus the bluetooth options to go with the BlackBerry would be neat.

As for my family or friends using my car, meh. It's something I'd like to consider, for various reasons, may not be reasons you'd think are important, but I do. So auto it is!

Been looking more and more at the inventory at the Downsview place, looks like alot of possible options, just wish they had more detailed information about their inventory then all that indash GPS bullshit...

Emailed them for more info on their stock.

They got a shit load of Mazda 3s in trader.ca

Alot of them are under 10,000 too. As long as you get it safety and emission tested you should be good. It would be nice to get it checked out with your personal mechanic. Like I said stay away from Pontiac!!!

Would be great if I had my mechanic with me, but bringing my cousin with me who is into cars and took automotive engineer and quality in school lol... betetr than nothing.

the mazda's are dirt cheap though. lots to choose from under 10k.

there is place that you can pay to have the car inspected. its near lemc place. i think they know about it and are usually more than happy to let the cars go there for inspection.

Subaru is a great car. You can beat those things to death but when you need to replace parts on Subarus of Audi its gonna cost you lots of money.

You might as well buy a VW is you want an Audi...especially if its the 2.0T. Audi is heavier and slower.

That was my concern to when I was looking at some cars, so many cheaper awesome imports, ALOT cheaper than I expected, but always had the cost of repairs or parts lingering in my head. Plus, sometimes not your average run of the mill down the street or your highschool buddy or family member mechanic can fix it to save you money. You could be shelling out $$$ for repairs...

regular suby parts are not expensive....

the only marked up shit is brembos on the STi....

but plenty of aftermarket to choose from for less(thats just as good and better in many instances).

at the cars you are looking at. i woudlnt worry about part prices. they will all be comparable.

i would seriously make sure you get the car inspected if you dont know what you are looking at.

a pre purchase inspection is normal these days.
