I think this statement is absurd. Who in their right mind would not try to shield their child from cancer if it could be done in a way that did not drastically alter their quality of life? If I can make the risk of a cancer, albeit a small risk, even smaller by removing the skin covering the tip of their penis, I'll do it. I have yet to read any objective evidence that doing so drastically alters their quality of life. If I can prevent infection, rather than waiting to treat it after it is established, that is also a valid reason, in my opinion. The elderly and infants are notorious for atypical presentation (or complete lack of signs and symptoms) during infection, including UTI. And yes, I have seen an infant lose both kidneys and die because of florid infection.
