Hey Josh...
Can you show us something that you have done in the past or have planned for the future that is better so that for my future endeavors I can ensure that we make sure people like you are comepletely happy.
Its funny how people just hate and have nothing good to say when there were actually thousands of others that had a great time and say it was one of the best weekends ever.
You know when people are hating you are doing something right...

Anyway I am over this conversation and just stating the obvious....hater |
Im not hating on the event. I am in vegas at least 3-4 times per year, and go to rain just about every time. Its my favorite club in vegas. The event was promoted very well, and I understand the vegas scene is difficult and unique. I understand you want to come on here and defend your event, but we both know that Reza brings the Love Festival brand thus he gets to choose who is playing. I understand the politics. You are up against it if you want to try and defend the horrible music of sunday night.
However, how does such a top notch event allow the sound to cut out of a $100 pool party all day long? Everything else about that pool party was set to make for an epic day. The music was good, crowd was great, but the sound cutting out for 5 hrs straight is unacceptable.
And why was there no high end sound inside the club sunday until about 430am? It sounded fine on saturday night....
Sunday night I think was REZA's fault. He is so bad. If you just listen to people walking around the club you would hear how amazed they were at how bad he was. And I am sure he had a hand in booking Steve Castro outside.
The Pauly D situation is beyond me. I am not sure what would inspire a promoter to pay him to show up. I knew he would be bad, but i figured maybe he was worth the $$$ as he would have a big guido crowd supporting him or something. But there was not a big crowd out there that was into him. His music was so unprofessional. I understand a difference in music selection, but no matter how bad your choice in tracks is, on a stage at such a large event you should at least be able to mix 1 out every 4 or 5 tracks. He was wrecking nearly ever single mix.
I havent attempted an event as big as this one, primarily because I don't possess the resources to do so. I assure you that If I did have the resources to pull it off, that I would most definitely provide my patrons with much higher quality of music for $100. And I would rid of the cheesy mushroom design. You spent all the $$$ for Armin, which is legit. Of course Jordan Stevens played well as he always does. I think its just the politics that you gave into that forced the bookings of Reza, Castro, and Pauly D...which ruined the night really.

Past-
Carl Cox last year at the pool was more than enough. Last years weekend was epic. This year one of the best DJ's all time was replaced by Pauly D.
Future-
I will be back at rain no doubt, Id like to be back for a party at the palms pool this summer. However I think that booking trance acts for pool parties is not the best idea. Of course this is just my opinion. I think they are somewhat out of their element and for the $$$ you can get DJ's that are much more inclined to rock a pool party during the day. I still like some trance, but not during the day at a las vegas pool party.

I am not even going into the details as I refuse to share the reaosns why I do things but I can assure you everyhting had a reason. I can aslo assure you that half of the things you have speculated are completley wrong.
Lastly I will say that thigns do go wrong, we are not perfect in any way, we put a massive amount of effrot into this weekend/ everything we do and anyone that wants to hate can go right ahead with foinally stating that until you have shown me that you can do something better I will politely pull out a chair and ask you to be seated.
Thanks...

Not to beat a dead horse, But no need to get all defensive for the sake of your effort. I am not hating on you or your event, but rather letting you know that rain failed to deliver, in my opinion, on the biggest weekend of the summer by pointing out the flaws of the party. If it will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, we can get together and I can share with you the fun moments of the night, but that isn't going to help you much with future parties. If you were smart, you would take the opinions/critics of your knowledgeable, experienced patrons regarding past events into consideration when planning future events. Instead you choose to render them useless because your patrons don't produce events bigger or better than your own? What an ignorant position to take, particularly on a forum where many of your patrons just read what you have written.
Is what I am saying that unreasonable? Did you get a chance to hear Pauly D and Reza play? And what were your thoughts on the quality of tracks and mixing? Did you notice that your sound was going out at the pool all day long? Or that there was no high end sound in the club all night until it magically came back on at 430AM? Rather than shrug it off as hate, realize the flaws of your event in order to make the next one better.
I assure you that I don't stand alone with my opinions. Im just voicing what I felt, and pretty much everybody around me felt. Just consider yourself lucky to be doing this event in Las Vegas, where quality music is a distance 3rd to a piece of ass and intoxication.
