Deprived of basic comforts, exposed to the harsh natural elements for 25 days and with their fate at the mercy of their fellow celebs, who will they become?
There will be two tribes - Moso and Kakula.
Each tribe will be made up from a split of the following celebrities: Justin Melvey, Imogen Bailey, Wayne Gardner, Nicolle Dickson, Guy Leech, Fiona Horne, Elton Flatley, Kym Johnson, Amber Petty, David Oldfield, and Gabrielle Richens.
The celebrities must also form a tribal council. At this meeting, each person places a secret ballot vote to send one fellow contestant home. Week by week, one by one, the tribe shrinks until at the end of the final episode, only two survivors remain. At that point, the seven most recently eliminated celebrities will return to form the final tribal council and decide who will be the final survivor.
The winner of Celebrity Survivor will have $100,000 donated to the charity of their choice. Every other contestant will have $5000 donated to their chosen charity.
“The mix of people in the cast is what makes it such great entertainment,” says Executive Producer David Mason. “Everyone is an achiever, everyone is ambitious and no-one wants to lose. Combine that with desperation to survive and we strip away any star veneer they ever had.”
“The audience is going to love seeing celebrities do it so tough. When we were casting it, we told the celebrities we weren’t making any concessions for them but somehow they never believed us. It’s only when they hit the beach for the first time they realised we weren’t lying – we literally gave them nothing besides a flint, a machete and a cooking pot. How they survived with only that makes great television." |
