Really guys, there are worse "#1":s, take Pulsedriver for example. His compilations are titled "Hard Dance Mania", when in fact they're neither hard nor mania, and the only ones who dance are the 11-year-olds. Sure Tiesto deserves a little better than to be placed in that category ("The-mainstream-number-ones"). Tiesto's performance (not mixing) is excellent, and he plays good tracks, nothing wrong with that. acctually he reminds me of Johan Gielen. Both of them just seem to have been born behind the turntables. But, their mixing-styles isn't always top-notch.

It has everything to do with quality. Someone new to EDM will not recognize what's good and what's bad. You acquire a taste for music as you go.

Yes they are. In general, people who have listenened to EDM (including trance) for years, will not vote for Tiesto, Armin or Ferry.

In general people who have listened to EDM (including Trance) for years, don;t give a rat's ass about the DJ Mag poll, let alone vote on it.

kay, I've listened to ISOS4 now. It sucks more cock than... well, Tiesto whores. Utterly shit tracks, though by today's low standards I guess they're about average. No flow whatsoever, at the start of each CD it's just like jumping directly into the middle of a Tiesto set. Standard mixing = shit for a mix-CD. Chugs along with half-assed climaxes now and then. Too many shit vocal tracks; female on CD1, male on CD2.

Sounds like an episode of ASOT anyway.

EDIT: Perfect Silence was an okay finisher for CD1. The only highlight was Netherworld 2005, but you can't really give him credit for that.

I havent heard ISOS4 yet...and dont really care to...

I think the series should of ended with ISOS2...
ISOS3 was blah....

ISOS4 is a double CD - against the original concept, also it has harder, techier tracks which also is not in the theme....all in all i wont be buying it....i will download it though...Tiesto gets enough cash from the shows i went to.

However the show he did last night...OMG the tracklist looks mint...i would have to say the nicest set since DD 02.02.02...making those horrid TIC sets (80% fillers) look like ass...

So i see a glimmer of hope.

Ok this is strictly my opinion:

my first party ever was Dj tiesto, live en las Cascadas Puerto rico (a waterpark), and i rolled with all of my life long friends at age 20.

amazing set.
best night of my life.

now, im older, ive seen so many more dj's, and ive seen tiesto on occasion again and again.

i must say, he's agood remixer, his tracklist is always solid, i wish he wouldnt play so many of HIS own songs, and i wish he would try a lot fukin harder in mixing the music like a real DJ does.......fukin slacker.

on the other hand, he made it. He got to the top and he wants to stay there. so let him. Let him fukin try

but there are tons of better dj's out there and even though Tiesto gave me the best night of my life, i will not hold that in his favor against other dj's that are much more skilled than him.

let the music play on.

ill listen

tiesto is tight, but not the tightest.

ba-BAM!

People have no taste.

Proof of this is that when he was amazing, creating remixes of tracks like Flesh and Innocente, putting together amazing sets and making great productions not too many people were fans of him.

Now his sets have gone to shit and he hasn't made anything amazing in years and people love him.
