And on that note, I had the corporate box on the 8th for the U2 concert with a Google Rep (a friend of mine LOL) who was interested in doing business with us (while they were getting sued by the Authors Association) just so I can vouch for the box, too bad a Senior VP from Businessweek took it from me LOLS. CRAP!

Dude... I'm not even talking about just that. I'm talking about people who just show up for the sake of showing up. Because it's the "cool thing to do." There's a difference between the 25,000 people that show up at Shea in mid-June for a Benson v. Vincente Padilla game and the extra 15,000+ who show up in early September for that same match-up. I know if you had the time, you'd be one of the original 25,000. I can't say the same for most others.

Id put him in the bullpen, they need as much help in there as possible. Plus, hes an insurance policy in the event something happens to one of those starters.

Now they have Wang, Embre, Small, Gordon and Rivera in the pen, its a good start. Drop Lieter and get another lefty, and the pen should be good.

Since when did having to watch all 162 games be the measuring stick of what a fan is. I watch games whenever I have time, but being the fact that Im a full time student, plus trying to do as much work as I can to fill the gaps to make money - I dont have time to watch 3 hours of the game, on top of that, I dont have the Yes network at home to watch a good chunk of them if I had some spare time.

given the fact you're a full time student...

It certainly didn't help your case when you only posted in the baseball thread earlier this season when the yankees are back in first place

you see...i never understood this...how can you just care about one team when they themselves are involved in the affairs of about half the teams in baseball?? I hardly have time myself to look at whats going on in the rest of baseball, but I at least do it...

you dont sound like a true fan at all...

Trust me, Im always trying to be up on the news in regards to the Yankees.

During the season, every week, I would always be checking the newspapers and/or websites to see where they were in the standings, and whether they were making any moves.

Obviously at the end of the year you start caring about other teams, because they play a big role in whether your team makes the playoffs or not depending on where they are in the standings, but until than... those teams dont get much attention from me.

I never said you HAD to watch all 162. I was speaking figuratively. But I think we all know that, if in the coming years, the Yankees start doing worse and worse and the Mets start doing better and better, the Mets fans here will start coming out of the woodwork as the Yankee fans slowly fade into Bolivian. It sucks... and it will definitely irk me, but I guess there really isn't much you can do about that. But, what will really bother me will be when the Mets start doing better and every post is about the Mets, then they have a poor 2 week stretch and there are no posts about them... but when the winning starts, it all comes right back.

Obviously, there are different levels of fandom. I consider myself a NY Giants fan, but I really don't know much about them. I've watched most games this season, but one thing I know I will not be doing is going around talking about the Giants in January like I have any idea what I'm talking about. Because baseball takes precedence over any other sport for me (as I'm sure you all know by now after reading some of my ridiculously long and boring "stats" posts).

Which is what people do to us Yankee fans, which makes - or would make - some people hypocrates.

See you and I are on opposite sides, what you are to baseball, I am to football.

I agree with this despite saying this as a Washington Nationals fan (i feel out of place here in the NYTA forums,) but even with the infancy of this team I can still relate to what you're saying.

I've been following the Nats since last October and i've met "fans" that don't know much about baseball but just go to the games because they were # 1 for much of June and July this summer and/or because it was the "thing" to do (go to RFK stadium for a game)

It's hard to make my point with a team that's less than a year old, but I still see your point in your posts. I have been following the Nats thru thick and thin and I see your same position with the Mets.

That's cool. Even though you never saw that team when they had Vlad and Vasquez. Wow.

all the traveling didn't seem to affect the Angels, as they take ALCS Game 1, 3-2

Like Santana last night, Byrd steps up this time for the Halos.
It would be something if Washburn does the same tomorrow, with strep throat and all
