In an Italian style High 5, I would fall down after the slap and hold my wrist with a "you messed up my hair" in agony face.

Woo hoo, can't wait for Thursday.

Well..I dont know how they have them setup, but as in an upset to alot of American haters in this board. Italian win, American win. We are in baby! Or at least. Ghana win and Italian loss..so Italians are out lol

We got hosed. Fuckin refs. They must have gotten "persuaded" to makeup the call during halftime, Italian mafioso style.

Why the hell didn't Arena play Eddie Johnson!? He was the only one in the first game taking any shots and making stuff happen. Brian McBride is OLD and looked OLD at the end of the game. Why have the old tired forward in there when down to 9 players with 1 attacker when we could have the 21 year old speedster Eddie J in there?

And please keep Dempsey in the game. Beasley is trash.

So what's the scenario we advance?

well, in a way i understand why the US didn't make one more substitution. It was down 10-9 and in case of any US injury in the final 40 minutes with a sub already in, it would of been 10-8. So he was saving that sub in case of an injury. Makes sense.

Here are the scenarios with the obvious one being the first one of course.

quote:
For the Americans to advance, they must defeat Ghana in their last game. In addition to beating Ghana, the U.S. team needs one of these scenarios to take place:

1. Italy defeats the Czech Republic.

2. Italy ties the Czech Republic 0-0 or 1-1 AND the United States beats Ghana by at least four goals.

3. Italy ties the Czech Republic 2-2 or with a higher score AND the United States beats Ghana by five or more goals.

4. Italy ties the Czech Republic 2-2 or with a higher score AND the United States beats Ghana by four goals AND the U.S. team scores at least three goals more than the Czechs do in their tie.

5. The Czech Republic beats Italy AND the total combined margin of victory for the Americans and Czechs is six or more.

6. The Czech Republic beats Italy AND the total combined margin of victory for the Americans and Czechs is five AND the U.S. team scores at least three goals more than the Italians do in their loss.

7. The Czech Republic beats Italy AND the total combined margin of victory for the Americans and Czechs is five AND the U.S. team scores exactly two more goals than the Italians do in their loss AND the Americans win a drawing of lots by FIFA.

So basically, Go Italy! and go us!

Unless they tie and we manage to win 4-0 against Ghana. We haven't even scored 1 damn goal yet. Thanks to Italy for knocking one in for us.

See people, the reason we suck at soccer (football) is because we don't send our best athletes, we send our best soccer players. And after age 16 they aren't many.
