It's a bit more melodic i'de say though than most IDM/experimental is. It has that influence, but after a few listens to this, i've definitely found it much more enjoyable than the vast majority of IDM/experimental music IMO.

The innovation on the record is mostly on a technical level.

Yeah, I pretty much agree. Most IDM/experimental electronica has too many weird time signatures and really lacks melody for my taste. This cd is definetly an interesting in the sense that it combines aspect of IDM with alot more melody, making it very listenable. I'm sure it'll grow on me after a few more listens.

Yeah it's that kind of CD....something that requires you to just sit back, and listen to intently. The music is best listening to at night time with headphones on. I listen to it in my car though, sounds pretty sweet while driving at night.

I don't really like the placement of

See You On The Other Side...

it should have been earlier, or not at all and he could have built the mix up a little more adding a track after The Antikythera Mechanism then the mix would be pretty flawless.

With head phones isn't bad but if you have a decent surround sound system it can really open up some of the music. My first couple listens were in my car and i thought crap i spent 15 bucks on this. Then i threw the dvd in and it changed my view of it. Now i like the cd version too. (BTW i talking a good system and not some Walmart special. I have an Onkyo 6.1 reciever going to paradigm 12inch sub and millenia 200 speakers, over thousand watts baby.) The more i listen the more i like the album.

This album + Sennhesier HD-25's =

I didn't think much of this album until listening to it through a quality set up. Great album.

wow, great album...

the crown jewel of the album is most definitely The Antikythera Mechanism... epic!!!

Good Morning Kaia, was decent, but I appreciated the song alot more after seeing the video. so heartwarming.... it's nice to see artists espouse pure noble intentions (like parenting), instead of all the sex/drugs from other genres.
