A couple "things" with the Iranian torture story.

1. He was abducted from Baghdad, not a member of the group of northern Iranian officials taken by American personnel that made the news a few weeks back. He was abducted by Iraqi police, not Americans. There's no denying he was in "Iraqi waters."

2. I find the timing extremely odd that days after he was released, and a day after the British soldiers were released, he decides to come forward with his story. It claims that he is currently hospitalized for the injuries he received, but instead of seeing those grievous injuries, we are told that he "showed them to reporters."

3. Why is he so adamant about it being the CIA? Did people really approach him saying "we're with the CIA, prepare to be tortured?" He said that he was interrogated in Arabic and English, but does that (if it happened) preclude any other possible group.

Who the hell knows, it could have happened, although it seems awfully sloppy by the CIA if it did. It's just a bit peculiar that a day after allegations of bad conditions by the British soldiers on the part of Iran, a mysterious Iranian figure, who no one seems to know, comes forward and professes that he too was tortured, although no injuries are shown or great specifics given, and is adamant it was the US CIA.

Yea, because only you know the true story...

I suppose in your mind, this whole thing was contrived by their (UK) government to 'make the Iranians look evil' huh?

There was more video released today showing the marines laughing and playing ping pong, eating together and talking, and generally looking pretty chill and relaxed given the circumstances.

I know that things can be staged and all that shit, but they didn't look too stressed in this new video and they certainly weren't going about things in a way that would suggest they were being told to play ping pong at gunpoint.

It's also pretty disgusting and disrespectful that these troops are being allowed to whore their story to the highest bidder while they're still in service. This makes me think that the MoD wants to use these stories in the propaganda war with Iran since so far, their story of terror and poor treatment isn't really coming across too well given the contradicting video evidence.

Ah yes, Tranceaddict's infamous terrorist lovers always looking for an angle to bash the West, and now bash the former hostages. Even if Iran went to their homes and slaughtered their families you'd still be seeing them come here and defend Iran's actions

Can you clarify that statement? It reads as "they should have killed them, but they didn't and thus were treated well."

I think you're missing any semblance of logic that Iran even tries to feign lately.

For being such a Iranian sympathizer, them following your path of logic would lead to annihilation. Not too profitable in the long term for the nation, right?

I can pretty much assure that prisoners won't be taken so close to borders again. If I were the US and Britain, I'd say to let your ship get sunk next time you're within a few miles, at least your location isn't disputed if a ship goes down. Then there's full-out worldwide condemnation for them breaching UN territory borders.

The section in bold is all I needed to see. You are absolutely wrong. Dead wrong. There are even videos of Taliban shaking hands with American government officials in USA, in Texas talking to oil executives, plus all the Senate oversights on American support and funding of both Al Qaeda and Taliban ... boy, you are such a bloody fool. You are the one who supports the terrorists by allowing United States government to give rise to these groups. Just like what they are doing in Pakistan helping the guerillas attack Iran.

What your puny little brain doesnt understand is that these terrorists were created and supported by USA initially for which my fellow Canadians are now dying in Afghanistan. We would have never had to go there if Americans waited a few years as Soviets were faltering at home with economy and political upheaval. Soviet Union didnt collapse because Americans funded the resistance within. And all the problems today around Middle East can be directly linked to US and British red flag operations, backed and supported terrorism including supporting and helping Saddam terrorize Iran and his own people using chemical weapons in 1980s that USA allowed them to use and they also put a veto in UN when the world tried to stop Saddam. I know what democracy is, but I dont feel comfortable watching and seeing how Americans are creating and helping the rise of these terrorists again.

If only USA let things sort out on their own, like happened in Lybia. Lybians were once against USA. Eventually after they got things sorted out on their own, and today Lybia is friend of US. If USA used red flag operations, and funded and started another terrorist group for resistance, today Lybia would be a terrorist state or very radical and most likely backlashed and became anti-American.

EDIT: The uprising and conflicts, resistance, problems in Iraq and Afghanistan shows that democracy cannot be spread by force and succeed. It is failing. The failed campaign shows the great power and capabilities of American military machine. Only in Baghdad for most part American military can provide security and stability in Iraq, with hard work and lots of troops. Outside of main cities its no-mans land, lawlessness, crime and hostage taking has become rampant. Democracy is failing.
