Now that I've had a couple of days to reflect on this night, I've gotta say that overall I was pretty happy with the night.

I had two major objectives on this night. One was seeing Mark Knight and the other was Armin. I would have also liked to have seen Angello and Ingrosso but once i heard about and laid eyes upon the logistical nightmare it was to get from one rooom to another, I decided to not risk ruining a good night.

Musically, i couldn't have asked for a better night. I actually thought Mark Knight was very very good. He may have been playing at a slightly lower intensity level than usual but this is probably due to the early time slot and the fact that he was playing in Montreal later. He did play alot of Toolroom tracks that I am a big fan of so it kept me smiling. I would like to see Mark play a headliner slot in the main room. I think he would really cause some heavy damage.

I've said it repeatedly before that my love for trance is still going as strong as it did 6 years ago when i started coming to guvernment. while i have expanded my musical tastes vastly, Armin's 8 hour 45 minute marathon reminded me of what a well constructed, thought out set should sound like. What can i say? the looks on peoples faces the next morning outside the Kool Haus was doing all the talking. Looks of disbelief mixed with satisfaction. Just lots of smiles on a beautiful sunny day. While the entire set was well done, it was the first 3 hours that i truly enjoyed. Armin got to show why he was rated #1 in the world and really got a fantastic flow going. It just kept going higher and higher and higher untill by 4 am or so he was belting out some bombs. my favourite song of the night had to be Cassandra Fox - Touch Me. With the lyrics showing on the screen, it was quite the fulfilling moment.

The setup was a strong one with the visuals around Armin very well done throughout the night.

Crowd wise...well what can i say. It was labour of love right? this is what happens at labour of love. Very busy and VERY HOT!!!!! Had to take multiple breaks to the washroom and koolhaus coatcheck area to cool off. Pretty decent crowd overall. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to check out the other rooms. Would have liked to have seen a bit of Mstrkrft, Aoki, Tom Novy (thought now i'm glad i didn't from the reviews), Angello and Ingrosso and Deko-ze closing the skybar. This being armins first extended 8 hour+ in toronto and the fact that he is after all by far my favourite trance DJ meant I couldn't bring myself to leave the KH.

a good night overall and lots more to come it seems in sept / october. Next major event for me will probably be Chus and Ceballos and Addy at the docks.

actually i have found the last 3 sets he played (Bal en blanc, niagara and LOL) that the best thing about them (each was better than the last) was the way he built the sets. It has been a while since i saw armin bang it out from the beginning and I think thats partly the reason I still like him so much. The classics to me are the icing on the cake. They are classics because they are good songs and are what the crowd wants to hear. Especially at the end of a long set. Its unlikely if this was a 3 hour set that we would have heard seven cities or touch me.

don't think its tacky at all. proposing to someone is a very personal thing and usually when done at a party has a serious amount of history behind it.

It is very possible to share a love and passion for a particulr venue / DJ / type of music enough with your significant other that you propose to him or her in or around that environment. It has to be done right ofcourse and shame on those guys who don't take it seriously enough to actually spend some time thinking about how they are going to propose. I'd say if you're going to propose in a club...do it big and make it count

parked the car at like 12:30 for 10bucks happy about that thought it was gunna be like $30....anyways walked up to the gallerys entrance where who do i see jumping out of a suv in the same spot i seen armin gettin out of a car a year ealrier.....Stevey Aoki and MSTRKRFT so of course we started yelling @ them to get there attention they wave, clearly they were already mashed.....
walked up to the main entrance where there was this girl hanging from a ctrane dooing sum trippy cirque du soleil shyte.....
my buddy knows a couple of promoters/bouners and we got to skip the MASSIVE line ups.....funny cause the guys in front of us gressed the bouners $50 to cutt the line.....
anyways hered a lil of Benny/Knight not much to form a review other then Benny looked EXTRA MASHED......
was on the skybar during tom novy he pumped out this one sik tune and no one was caring or too mashed.....so i started yelling during the build up low and behold the crowd woke up and started cheering....i found it quite comical....
seen MSTRKRFT chugging bottles of Crown Royal....they finished atleast 3 on stage....THEY SHOULD ALSO PUT A WARNING LABEL ON MSTRKRFT's sets they fucking smoke nuff....so i had to keep pace with my brothers and smoke with them....
my throat hurts.....
Steve Aoki is a rock star climbing on everything he could get his hands on.....nice tunage.....
I was in the KOOLHAUS FROM 4:30-5:15 AND ARMIN WAS KILLING.....this is when i realized the koolhaus looked like a GODAMN JUNGLE not a sunny ibiza beach.....anyways.....armin smashed it when i was there and he made me happy.....
i went for Steve Angello and Seb Ingrosso only hered 1.5hrs and they rocked it for me, even with the the massive build ups.....they looked like they were enjoying themselfs....

I went to hear Body Crash and i didnt hear it.....sucked....
I hate the godamn orange room access to koolhaus.....
THANK GOD for the D'Lux lounge stairs that lead outside....

MSTRKRFT-9/10
Steve Aoki-9/10
Sweedish House Mafia-9/10

LABOUR OF LOVE 2008 - 11/10 - i dont care if it was stupid rammed....
