The Cavs are not just winning...they are often dominating opponents to the extent that James often can sit out huge stretches.

Their backcourt is set for years to come with Mo Williams, Delonte West and Daniel Gibson. Varejao will presumably continue to mature as a legit PF. Ilgauskas' numbers are hovering around his career averages (i.e. he's not really in decline) and he has been healthy for 5+ years. The Cavs can draft/trade for a young C to be mentored by him, but he has several years left at a high level, IMHO.

Clevland isn't New York in terms of the spotlight...but if it's *really* about going for titles, why leave when you're already on a team that's winning and is a couple of pieces away from being a perennial contender like the Spurs?

that's my case for Clevland, anyway

Agreed. Plus the fact that the Knicks are yet another example of a mismanaged large budget team. I would hate to see Lebron go there.

He can make all the money he wants to through endorsements, and stay in Cleveland. Going to NYC would be purely about the spotlight, and glam.

I wouldn't write it off yet. I think LeBron can benefit from a freeflow offense. D'Antoni may not win championships, but he plays very player friendly, entertaining, potentially winning basketball. I say even if LeBron wins a championship in Cleveland before 2010, he still might go.

Xmas day special. Boston vs LA. I think this is going to be a huge battle! Now just to find somewhere to watch it.

Predictions? Just because I don't want to see Boston beat the BUlls' record, I hope LA wins.

yeah, he played well. I see him becoming a solid pro in the near future. Doesn't shy from contact, long and quick at his position, creative passer, can finish around the rim, and is a developing halfway decent defender. If he could just increase the range and consistency of his jumper, he'll be a pretty solid PG.

But this was a good game, I honestly thought we were gonna get blown out [beating Houston because they're playing badly, not because of how well WE played], but it was nice to see a lot of fight especially from the perimeter players. Too bad about Andrea's touch fouls in the 4th, he was looking pretty spectacular too.

reason: playing like a pass-first PG. His downfall so far has been *extremely* poor shot selection, in part due because he would too quickly give up on making a play. in this game, he displayed much better judgement.

btw...is Dwight Howard one of the biggest whiners in the league? fuck, he was crying to the refs even after they gave him the call, lol. stfu already and focus on learning to hit free throws. Hack-a-Shaq part 2.

last two vs the celts:

A lot of positives to be taken, Bargs and team toughness [JOEY! JOEY!] being the biggest ones. Let's hope even though they went 0/2, they'll realize that they were up against the defending champs and losing a couple close ones isn't anything to be ashamed of.

Things they need to clean up:

long shot, long rebound.

Bosh, you can't be afraid of KG, you're quicker, just drive from 10 feet instead of 5, and you'll be far enough ahead so he can't block
your shot.

Moon still makes me sick with his shot selection.

Oh, and Roko's gonna be some player, look out in 2-3.

How Raptors could deal for Nash...

Steve Nash already has been talking about finishing his career (his contract expires in 2010) in New York or back home in Canada. Why not sooner? I've heard speculation about such a possibility around the NBA. It's an intriguing proposition. The Suns start to look beyond Shaq now with the idea of building around Amare Stoudemire. While the Raptors push to get back in serious playoff contention to try to persuade Chris Bosh to resign. Toronto reportedly has been anxious to trade, but really has little of great value. Here's the deal and while bold, it could respond to both teams' desires. Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez for Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker and Jason Kopono and perhaps Jamario Moon to equalize salaries.
