Open letter to Sir Lunchalot & Taha,
If you're suspending luv-hat, I strongly support the suspension of Malek as well.
Quoting Luchalot's post, "football is is a game to have fun, not a reason to hate" and, although lüv~hât's comments about Germany were sure uncalled-for, they were not unprovoked:

Not because bribes are a way of life in Argentina that its the same in developped countries |
This kind of attitude from Malek was tolerable in the beginning, but his derogatory references gets on the nerves of anyone who identifies themselves as targets of his comments. In this case, it would be only natural for an Argentinian to feel offended. Firstly, his comment is extremely unfair given the fact that even though corruption levels and poverty levels are connected in some way, it's not exclusive to "undeveloped countries" (apart from Italy and Portugal, whose rates are somewhat high, you have Spain and Japan with considerable levels of corruption as well). Secondly, the tone used by Malek is blatantly provocative, and is a sad portrait of ignorance, prejudice and lack of sense.
The most obvious example of Malek's offensive attitude would be the constant reference to Brazilian players and football as "Banana players" and "Banana football":

yes less monkey soccer, more real soccer. |

come on, you know it, faking injuries, diving, wasting time, Brazil's speciality IS monkey football. |
|
This "banana" and "monkey" references aren't originally his idea (he can't even get the credit for this), as you can see from this comment of Oleg Blokhin:
| quote: | Originally said by Oleg Blokhin
The more Ukrainians that play in the national league, the more examples for the young generation. Let them learn from Shevchenko or Blokhin and not from some Zumba-Bumba whom they took off a tree, gave him two bananas and now he plays in the Ukrainian League. |
This was the first example I found, and you can find many more if you do some research. "Monkey" has endlessly been used as an outrageous slur against people whose skin is brown/black. This fits perfectly the Brazilian football player stereotype, as their skin colour is often darker when compared to that of their European counterparts.
If you felt offended, Sir Lunchalot, by luv-hat's reference to Nazi Germany (which was a completely unfair one, I agree with you), you cannot ignore Malek's derogatory attitude toward "monkeys from undeveloped countries".
Personally, if luv-hat is being suspended, I can't understand why Malek won't suffer the same consequences, given the fact that his behaviour is not different (at all). And I'm not saying this out of hatred or anything as, honestly, I'd rather see both of them posting here without any sort of censorship.
Truly yours,
- Lira
I'm making this an open letter (rather than something taken to PM's) in order to give Malek the chance of defending himself, and in order to have the judgement of other users.
