Alright I am new to the TA forums, I've heard and bumped into several TAs while going to concerts and asked if I was a member but never took the time to come check it out. Here I am, and unfortunately I start with this lower-note post, but hey it is what is is.
That is my girlfriend and her sister that you guys have been talking about. A bunch of us went to see Tiesto on Sunday, and none of us had backstage passes but her and her sister got taken backstage after her sister talked with one of the bouncers and kept asking to be let in. Everything LOT2005 has been saying has been true and has been extremely unfortunate, especially since this is my third time seeing Tiesto, and because I even got one of Tiesto's CDs for my gf as a gift for one of our month aniversaries.
She is not a trance fan and has been introduced to the music & scene only since she met me and my friends last year sometime. The only reason she got back there is because her sister got let in by the bouncer (who is much more avid techno-music listener and Tiesto fan than her) and she went with her, as any girls watch out for each other when splitting off from your friends.
There is no reason in the world for them to be making that story up. My gf was only there to have fun and was an 'innocent bystander' so to say, in the sense of just coming out with everyone to have fun and enjoy the show. On the other hand her sister is totally a Tiesto fan and loves the guy, and she was cheering and dancing the whole night a few months back with us when he came down at the Docks. So she actually likes the guy (well, I guess not after this night) and did nothing but go back and have a good time meeting everyone backstage. There is no made up story here, when my gf came out I was all excited to ask her how things went backstage and take her dancing to enoy MO's final beats when I saw her with a horrified and disguisted look on her face and found out what happened. I didn't believe it myself and thought they were joking around, but they were fully serious and looked totally hurt, and couldn't believe that the guy we went to see and that they paid so much money and spent their time to come see live just put them off like they were nothing but meat to be taken for granted.
They asked for a freaking pic, which I believe opposed to Armin (who at the end of his Dragonfly set a couple weeks ago came out and shook hands, gave hugs, and took pictures - I have a picture from that night that my friend took with him), Tiesto pulled this crap out and quite simply shocked me and changed my outlook on the already-doubting outlook which is going around about him anyway.
As for not being invited back there, my gf talked to EVERYONE backstage to try to get me back there, she even came out to the bouncer and asked him to let me in (and even talked to Tiesto's manager and the promoter of the night, who she got the business cards of, and said were really nice) but apparently since we weren't piece of asses that could be possibly handed down to Tiesto for after his drunken show, she could do nothing to get even one of us back there.
I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, I just wanted to state what happened and how dissapointed I am with what Tiesto has turned out to be, especially after he is one of the main DJs that got me into trance music and I have supported his music regardless of people bitching about his crowd and commercialed success. I ain't saying anything about his mixing skills or quality of his set or anything like that, because quite frankly the last 6 or so songs that he played were good after good after good and I had a great time there with all my friends, and this post is not meant aimed at talking about that. But to act like that is completely unaceptable, and should not fly with any DJ, at any time, in any situation, ever. Whether they were #1 in the world at one point or not. So goodbye Tiesto, way to be an unthankful asshole, enjoy your poser-ass drunken hoes that actually agree to your backstage proposals, because you sure the fuck don't deserve more.
Oh, and file a lawsuit with the police? What are you joking? Why would they even bother?
Looking forward to joining everyone in future posts and concerts
Luvv to my newfound Trance Addicts, it is after all what this music is all about. Cheers! =)

Nice post... but if your g/f's sister "knew" about the scene, as a EDM fan anyway - surely she knew this is the behaviour of the elite DJs already?? Surely she would've been alert to that situation already and be able to advise your g/f that its quite normal for that crap to be blurted out of Tijs' mouth - because lets face it, if anyone can get away with it - and the groupies actually going ahead with his instructions - its TIESTO.
Whats the point of the song & dance about it now???
He can get away with it, normal men can't. Oh No11!1.

I'm sorry to hear that man. I really am. But if Arnold S. can get away with all of the shit that he's gotten away with in the past and then become the GOVERNOR of Cali, then something is definately wrong with the system. Tiesto is a little fuckin nerd anyways, and he's probably compensating on his lack of love life before becoming big.
Thanks for your post and welcome bro.
