I'm with you on that one.

I call it "professional courtesy". It entitles everybody to polite interaction and a basic level of respect so that interaction can be useful and productive.

It is absolutely essential to operate on a basis of professional courtesy in the business world and most would find useful in their personal lives as well.

If one can't give a person professional courtesy then one best just avoid that person all together.

I agree with you 100%. But in my opinion there is a huge difference between respect and "professional courtesy". In my dealings with people both in business and person interactions it starts with courtesy and goes from there.
