He didn't trainwreck every mix and it also depends on what your definition of train wreck is. He was out on quite a few occasions but quickly fixed em (as he should) .. but he shouldn't have been out by the standard he's been portrayed to be. I don't disagree with you Paulie. As an International who's high on the list he should have shown a higher technical abilty than what I heard.

At the same time I can't hide the fact that I really enjoyed the set and danced my ass off hence me thinking it was awesome. So what do you do? Get shitty that the guy can't mix that well and have a crap time or say hell with it, what's in the tunes bag? The guy played good tunes and I had fun.

wasnt having a dig at you denim

was just wondering why i was called a "fucking spastic" by beat blog for wondering how DJ's are rated based on there track selection rather than there technical ability

Beat Blog

you have no idea...

a) Since when did the enjoyment of a night depend on the DJ's technical skills? A DJ could have the best mixing in the world, but if he plays Eiffel 65 and Alice Deejay it's going to mean fuck all. Obviously basic skills are necessary, though.

b) Ever heard of Felix Da Housecat?

c) If you've spent any amount of time at onelove as your location proclaims, you've seen Derek {K}, who couldn't mix a fucking cake, and you'd know that his sets are still awesome.

d) Lawrence was slightly sloppy but he didn't train wreck at any stage.

e) Ever heard of David Mancuso?

I'm all for good mixing, but it's not massively important...

Good mixing is mandatory for a DJ. Sorry, but no excuses. Sure, no one is perfect, but if they can't get good mixing under their belt they shouldn't be playing. Goes hand in hand with good tune selection. You can't have one without the other.

Esp for someone that has been DJ-ing for as long as Christopher Lawrence has been its just very slack on his part if he mixes were off.

I had a ball.I was fair wrecked coz Id backed it up and done Ronski the night b4 who owned. But enjoyed hangin out with my crew and meeting ITM'ers.Didnt notice much of a fluoro foot patrol or tops off muzza quotient. If they were about they were quiet about it!Mike Nichol tore it up for me.Loved his track selection.Lawrence was good but I was fairly tired by this stage and didnt have much energy. He seemed a bit overwhelmed by the crowd after his set, shaking his hand and patting him on the back.Maybe he doesnt get the chance to play more intimate gigs where he gets to interact with the crowd.Scott Alert played a good closing set that reminded me of old morning sets at Kandy. All in all a good nite, happy crowd,no dickheads causing trouble.Need more female toilets tho,the line was frickin stupid!
