Stupidest trade ever.

Calderone should be considered as untouchable as Bosh. True PGs like him are hard to come by these days.
You make deals like that if you're making a title run. In two years, subtracting Jose and adding Nash will do NOTHING to bring a title to Toronto, yet you'd be mortgaging the future.
zero credibility to that type of trade.
I could see Nash taking a massive pay cut and playing backup to Jose (if the Raps somehow were a guy or two short of being title contenders at that time), but replacing him? No way in fuck...

No way. He isn't quick enough, and his D is average.
On a similar note, I was at the Boston game on Sunday, and Calderon absolutely sucked. It was like he was stuck in the mud. No wonder he sat yesterday. He is definitely not ready yet.
Roko, on the other hand, impressed me. Surprisingly.

Exactly. This sort of deal would make sense if Colangelo wanted to sabotage the franchise for the next 2-3 years. He'd basically be trading away all our young talent for a PG with a bad back and a guard that has a tendency of disappearing during the playoffs.
These people suggesting the Calderon for Nash trade should be shot.

what lulz? Nash is 34. Will be 36 when his contract expires. He won't be starting anywhere by the time he's an FA.

i dunno how many people would expect for Nash to take a backseat to Calderon right now (I mean NBA wise)

"Right now" is irrelevant since Nash will be an FA in 2010. Even so, if Nash and Calderon would be on the same team RIGHT NOW then Calderon should still be the starter.
Nash is old. He can't handle starters minutes anymore.

I've been hearing these rumors for months now. It won't happen for the age reason alone.
I think the support for this trade is coming from fans more interested in bringing home a local boy rather than as BC would call it 'basketball acumen'

one more rumour I've been hearing for a couple weeks that I'm not too big on:
