Tom McGuinness of Portsmouth, N.H. McGuinness was likely among the first to die in the terrorist attack. He has been identified as one of the pilots of American Airlines Flight 11, which terrorists are believed to have crashed into the World Trade Center. An official at McGuinness' church confirmed that he was a pilot on board the plane. He was married with two children.
• Barbara Olson, a frequent Fox News Channel commentator on political affairs was one of the passengers on the airliner that hit the Pentagon today. Olson was also married to Solicitor General Theodore Olson, who argues President Bush's cases before the United States Supreme Court. She used a cell phone to tell her husband that her plane had been hijacked by attackers using knives and sharp instruments
• David Angell, 54, of Pasadena, Calif., was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11. Angell was the executive producer of the NBC show Frasier. His wife, Lynn, was also on the plane with him.

• Daniel Lewin, 31, co-founder and chief technology officer for Akamai Technologies, Inc., an Internet company headquartered in Cambridge, Mass. Lewin was a passenger on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center today. He was married with two sons.
• John Oganowski of Dracut, Mass. Oganowski was a veteran American Airlines pilot and fourth-generation farmer. He was reportedly in the cockpit when Flight 11 flew into the World Trade Center.
• Garnet "Ace" Bailey, age unknown, director of pro scouting for the Los Angeles Kings hockey team. A passenger on United Airlines Flight 175, Bailey was entering his 32nd season as a player or scout in the National Hockey League. It was his eighth season as the director of pro scouting for the Kings. He spent 13 previous years as a scout with the Edmonton Oilers, who won five Stanley Cups during that time. The team was scheduled to open its training camp tomorrow in Los Angeles.
• Mark Bavis, age unknown, an amateur scout for the Los Angeles Kings. Bavis was also a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.
