There are a bunch of places online that tell you how to remove root (it is pretty much just delete 3 files and reboot) and once you do that, it is reverted back. I used root though to delete some things like Slacker Radio, GoGo in flight internet, TeleNav, and one other thing I can't remember. |
When you say that the warranty voiding is a crock, do you just mean that you're apposed to companies voiding warranties for it? Or, do you mean that they don't void warranties at all for it? Just trying to understand, before I make any decision on the matter.
Besides removing apps, does it really give me any true advantages over what I already have access wise with my phone? I don't really mind waiting for the official release of Froyo, so if an early OS update is the only really good selling point to rooting the phone, I think I may just hold off. Just afraid of bricking the phone...
Obviously, I can google for this, which I have, but I'm just trying to get an end-users opinions to my questions directly, if you don't mind.
