if the yanks want to win tonight they gotta hit up schilling which i think they will
not as bad as last time but i can see them gettin 4 or 5 runs off of him like they did to pedro last night
lieber has to pitch 7 good inings maybe gibe up 2 or 3 runs
for the 8th yanks have sturtz he hasent pitched that much and for the 9th they will use marino for an inning
anything after that then i dunno who for both clubs boston uses everyone as well

Lieber has to be the guy that one would assume would last longer only because Shelling's ankle can't be alright. I saw him on TV last night throwing and he still looked gimpy. But you never know....

Exactly, these two guys aren't Brad Lidge or another under 30 year old. Pitching in back to back games is rare for Mariano. Especially if he threw two innings in one game. So for him to come in today and throw another inning would be VERY surprising to me.

Before I leave work, my prediction for tonight is that Shelling is gonna get shelled. Yanks win 7-4. Lieber's gonna have to go awhile. I mean the dude only throws strikes, he doesn't muck around, and he's the anti-Red Sox because they are patient. 8 innings and 4 ER will be enough.

Shelling is still the gimp!!

This would be my advice to the Yankees, IF Lieber has to go early, put in Loaiza and let him throw an inning or two, from the way he pitched last night he looks like hes getting some confidence back. In relief, go with Heredia FIRST, than Sturzte. Make Boston fuss around with a lefty.

They might have to intentionally walk Ortiz today, later on in the game to prevent yet another winning hit by him.

they made a good point on baseball tonight last night that because the yanks and sox play each other so much, instead of sox batters swinging and missing like we have all see rivera do to so many batters in the past, they are fouling balls off and getting hits, as we have seen the past 2 nights.

i guess once a closer faces the same team so many times, batters start to figure him out eventually. no knock on rivera, just the law of averages here i guess.

Loaiza threw a lot of pitches yesterday. Not exactly sure of the number, but he's not a reliever who can go out there a day after he just pitched. So I'm not entirely sure he'd be able to pitch. Vasquez, however...

Game 6 looking crazy already

watch that home run (for which the initial call was corrected) that bounced off the spectator make all the difference in the game

Schilling (with help from the wind) pitching better than he did in Game 1
and the Sox hitting better against Lieber than in Game 2
but still a while to go
