seriously. someone who says that kobe is better than jordan right now should be given a time machine and go back 10 years ago. if jordan didn't make that transition from being an all offensive guy to a all game guy in the late 80s, then we would be talking different stories here.
but i think the turning point of his career was when his bulls were losing heavily to the detroit bad boys pistons in the playoffs a lot, and he felt he needed to step his game a bit to go above the pistons. well, he did it. how did he do it ? he improved his defensive skills, which is something kobe hasn't tried to improve the past 4 to 5 years. he can shows flashes of good defense here and there, but jordan was non stop the whole game. that is what made jordan great. anyone can score points every night, but jordan was special, because he put up the points, and did his duties on the defensive end.
not only that, but he enstilled confidence to his team that they were a good team, which is something kobe has never done. in the past, he let shaq be the motivator of the team.
the closest to jordan's type of game is bill russell, larry bird, magic, and oscar robertson. they knew when to take over the game when their teams needed them the most, and were the prime motivators on their respective teams when needed most.
nothing against kobe, but he hasn't shown any type of leadership skills the great ones in the past had.
