ok, i never bothered listening to his tracks, but with the exception of not exactly, all his tunes are garbage. sounds like shit you would hear while waiting in the lobby of a hospice.

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

Check these out:
Teaser (Deadmau5 Remix Version 1)
No Pressure (Deadmau5 Remix)
Jaded
Faxing Berlin
Finished Symphony
Arguru
Not Exactly
The tracks above aren't trance tracks so I can see how die-hard trance fans might not like his tracks.
However, whether you like his work or not, you have to respect the following:
he developed his own cross-over sound which is being played by dj's crossing many different genre's (minimal, techno, tech house, house, progressive house, and trance)
his productions have been in the Beatport top 10 best sales charts consistently for the past 6 months
he is without a doubt one of the top & breakthrough producers of 2007
he went from being an almost complete unknown to becoming one of the hottest artists at the current moment on a global level
he has joined the roster of some of the worlds top dj agencies
he is playing the world's best clubs on a consistent basis
he has established a successful brand, logo & record label (mau5trap)
Our scene is small in comparison to other music scenes (hip hop, rock, indy, etc...). Rather than bashing, Deadmau5 deserves credit for greatly contributing to the scene in 2007, helping to keep things fresh by introducing a new sound, and helping to keep things exciting which contributes to the future growth of the scene as a whole.
With that said, I never personally heard him DJ so I'm looking forward to catching a performance of his when I get the chance.

sounds like someone has a crush.
honestly though, it doesn't really impress me that much. while he may have success in the EDM scene, in the grand scheme of things, like you said, the EDM scene is relatively small and unimportant. Saying he reached the top of the EDM whatever is about the equivalent of reaching the top of the bottom.

No dude, there's just a lot of unnecessary drama and unwarranted bashing in this thread towards an artist who has accomplished a lot for himself and for the growth of our scene via the contribution of his talent.

Small, but unimportant? You obviously like EDM so I would think that you would like to see it grow.

They should name a Jersey fast food Chinees dish after Deadmau5.

i do like EDM, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not that important. for you it is different because it's your career. i wasn't trying to knock it because it's a life-line for some people, but it's not a major contribution to society.

Yes but I wasn't talking about the grand-scheme of society or life or our universe and neither were you.
I was talking about our scene, on a forum dedicated to our scene, in regards to an artist who contributes to our scene, who is being bashed in a thread originally started by a fan who is excited for his upcoming debut in our city.

This scene may be a career now, but it is even more so passion for which I have had since I was young.
You obviously like EDM so it is a pleasure in your life. How much fun would your life be if your pleasure's were taken away from you?

I disagree, what would your life or society in general be without Arts & Entertainment?
