WAS that rare, except in the north, which has far less of a difference. Also worthy of noting, there are far less interracial couples in NYC because the city is somewhat segregated. There are mostly whites in Manhattan and Brooklyn closer to the Hudson River, while Harlem and Bedford Stuy is predominantly black. This is slowly changing, but odd for a city as mixed as NYC. |
hehe you are crazy, I see interracial couples all over the place in NYC, and we cant forget that this includes more than just black and white. I have surprisingly seen a lot of black women dating white men recently.....interesting turn of events considering we are used to seeing it the other way around
Also, Since when it Manhattan mostly white? First thing, Harlem IS Manhattan, so that doesnt make much sense?....... and there is Washington Heights, Inwood, Hamilton Heights, Morningside Heights, Upper East Side, Chinatown, Lower east side, Clinton aka Hell's Kitchen, which are all very mixed with black, spanish, asian, brown peeps, white peeps, jewish, etc.....I live in the Upper West Side of Manhattan and its very mixed, so I am not sure why you think otherwise.

Then I'm completely wrong. Heard it from someone who lived in Brooklyn. I live in ATL, not there! Thanks for the correction
And yes, Georgia is still littered with blatant racism. Giving a family that has had southern, bible thumping, librul-hatin' offspring for generations a mixed child is quite a big deal.
