Wrong example, no-one told me minimal was not huge...

But, I'm someone who wanted to see evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction in Irak, before claiming and telling there are like it is a fact....

Innocent until proven guilty....

Yeah, that pretty much says it all right there.

And you've certainly been proven wrong, or "guilty", repeatedly here. But feel free to keep playing the stubborn child role.

Ok so it's solved. Nothing is gonna change, mods aren't gonna start banning for excessive trolling/bashing and the anti-trance geeksquad circlejerk will continue to act like douches. bravo.

There is no problem with being proven wrong. Just difficult to be wrong without proof....or getting a decent answer to a question.

Jesus, this thread is hilarious.

People really get offended by people who don't agree with them and are able to articulate their thoughts at higher than a fifth grade level.

Awesome.

Edit: And Trance-MB, you got your answer, several times - again and again. You just choose not to buy it because you don't want to - and that's on you, and no one else.

I didn't even get a decent answer....

Fine, Minimal was HUGE in 2005, whatever HUGE might be.

At least I try to stay polite, seems to be hard lately....

it would only be a start? lol, what would be the full thing - having the music played from every set of speakers on earth simultaneously?

EDM, or other gernes played at eg Sensation, Dance Valley, Mysteryland, DefQon and Love Parade?

edm is an umbrella term which includes 'minimal', if that's the comparison you want, fine: i was signed to all of juno's feeds during the entirety of 2005, and releases that tried to latch on to the 'minimal' trend outnumbered any other single genre.

sensation? when did they ever feature anything other than modern-trance until the last couple of years when they started latching on to the 'electro/minimal' trends? same for defqon, except they added a pinch of techno and various 'hard' genres.

mysteryland 2006 hosted these among others: Lucien Foort, Fedde Le Grand, Gregor Salto, Sven Väth, James Holden, Steve Bug, Johannes Heil, Steve Rachmad, Richie Hawtin, Bookashade, Felix Da Housecat, DK7, Jeff Bennett.

and loveparade? weren't you talking about holland? at least try to stay consistent.

correction, dance valley was always the most varied one.

I have read people want it in a seperate area. 2005 and 2006 was a 2day event, which people see as a failure. Bet that had an influence on the number of artists.

huh? what number of artists? regardless, this is relevant how?

Meant that much more DJ's were playing Minimal at other festivals too, not just at Dance Valley.

Within EDM, I know ist the umbrella...

That's more like an answer I expected. Can't check it, but at least probably it's based on something.

Thought Mysterland always had most areas and by that most variation, from extremly hard to soft.

I am, my 'area' also covers Belgium and partly Germany, I live 15 km from the German border, 15 km from the Belgium border and 200 km from Amsterdam, but I didn't mention that.

Because it went from one day to two the numbers of DJ's could grow for all genres, but forget about that, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that.

I guess a clear answer to the question "When can a genre be called Huge?" doesn't exist.

Just so everyone is clear on this, I am not advocated banning people or editing their posts because they're negative toward trance or any other genre. I question the value of voicing all that negativity, especially in the form of breezy ridicule, but I don't think people should be stopped from expressing it if that's what they feel like doing...

So, those of you who want "heavier" modding, don't try to enlist me in support of it.

It's huge, but won't be played at Dance Valley or Sensation...I guess...

Jumpstyle was a fad in Holland, maybe it was or is still HUGE around the area you live - south/east Holland, it was nowhere near HUGE in the big cities in Holland, like in Amsterdam where I come from. What's the point in talking about what's "huge" in or around your town?

Innercity was always associated with trance (and hardstyle that attracted a lot of audience too), whereas they radically changed direction in 2005 & 2006, where it was all about minimal/electro.
