Yes. If you're a fucking ME worth his salt and you land a job in Germany fluent or not you will become fluent very fucking shortly. Therefore I would concentrate on other facets that need to be addressed to get the fuck out ASAP.

Having a nice base is more important to me than just learning on the fly. There is only so much you can learn from this way that you make out to be fantastic. My sister learned Russian this way, and her grammar is flat out shit.

I agree that you should learn the local language of the nation you eventually move to. It's a touchy subject for me as a Los Angeles native and resident.

I just didn't know Ben was planning to move to Germany. Most Germans in the engineering/technology industries do speak English, however. If he was planning to stay on this side of the pond, then my statement would have a lot more validity.

Agreed that if I stayed in the US I would skip the foreign language, but as I said, it is also to help get me back into the swing of things. 2 core classes and 1 fuck around class. I haven't been in school since early 2002. I need to ease into it rather than jump right into 4 core classes.
