If you don't want to fucking talk about it, don't bring it up. All you do is make people curious and then piss them off when you wont divulge the details. It's like saying "OH I HAVE SUCH BIG NEWS!! But I can't tell you." Then shut the fuck up about it and don't even mention it you tool.
I have removed numerous people from my wall updates because I can't tolerate their bullshit statuses. Some of those include family members (they are stupid religious and post things like "The Lord is so wonderful blah blah blah!" There is only so much of that you can take before you want to tell them to STFU.
Sometimes you can't help but be associated with idiots. Family members, co-workers, etc. Besides, the larger your social network, the better... even if some of those people are complete asshats. That asshat might be the cousin of the guy who is going to hire you... you never know.
