simple reason: not a single person who's heard this song hasn't fall in love with it immediately! nothing,breezer,beauty,sapphire cut, summer calling +pvd's re-edit of tic toc follow closely

Shane - It's Too Late To Turn (Armin van Buuren remix)
James Holden - Nothing

Here's a summary of my thoughts:
(The complaints are picky, but they had to be for me to make a decision)

Andain - Summer Calling
Beautiful sound, but not full enough by itself.

Shmuel Flash - Chilling Moments (Bedrock Vocal Mix)
Not powerful enough or appealing to a large enough audience.

Plastic Boy - Silverbath
Excellent tune, but there have been better this year. Almost too uplifting.

James Holden - Nothing
Technically amazing, but not epic enough in scope to be tune of the year.

Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Definitely a possibility with its slowly building energy and mature sound, but not as emotional as some of the other contenders.

Project Medusa vs Exor - Moonshine (Exor Mix Pt.2)
Driving and uplifting, but not enough of a trademark sound.

Shane - It's Too Late To Turn (Armin van Buuren remix)
Breathtaking in sound, but simply not great enough.

And now for my top five (Now it basically boils down to opinion, because these are so close!):
