I actually prefer to read black background with white text when it comes to computers, I know what you're trying to make there but I'm not sure about that woodgrain up the top.

I also need to buy a new monitor at some point... something big and LCD

I see.

Hmm... you know, this is weird. I prefer dark backgrounds too but, for some reason, usability experts tell us people can read better on lighter backgrounds.

I might give the users the option of choosing another set of colours... or I can just tell them to use Opera so they can personalise the websites themselves

I'd much prefer to read white background, black text, when it comes to reading books and things, but monitors are different, for me white on black/dark background is much easier to read.
Maybe it has something to do with brightness.

Being concise is an art form. If you can do it in 3 pages, he/she'll probably thank you, as it means less reading for them to grade it

Not just a 'every now and then' workout Ian, you need to do an every day workout as well. Hour of weights, hour of cardio, minimum 30mins walking. Do your cardio 1st thing when you get out of bed in the morning, no excuses, weights later in the day and walking in the middle.

..and children's toys are not a form of exercise!
