Question for all you Canadians out there. Whats the legalities around weed theses days. I know you all are decriminilizing it, but what are the actual laws now? |
Well its not legal but it's also not a criminal offense. If you're caught, you will still get charged, but you will not have a criminal record. Don't listen to people either when they say that the cops are more lax about this now as this is not the case. If anything they are more prone to give out tickets as it's easier than an arrest, IMO

And I also wanted to warn anyone traveling across the boarder from the US to canada for the show.
When your shopping for food to bring, leave fruit off the list unless its canned. Some stupid agriculture law forbids it. And that sux, cause I love eating fruit when Im out in the sun all day dancing. So refreshing. MMMMM oranges.
Also, dont bring used pipes/bowls. Buy a cheep new one for the trip and get rid of it before comming back. They can give you a UPM (unlawful possession) ticket for the residue and paraphrenallia. I have seen it happen.

Just buy it all when you get here. They will not let you into canada with any agricultural products, and we have enough of it here.

And some more common sense when packing:
1. Leave items of value at home. There will be theifs abound.
2. Bring lots of drinking water. Even though they say they will have facilities, lines are usually rediculous at events like these.
3. Bring toilet paper, they always seem to run out at festivals.
4. Bring baby powder. Keeps you from chaffing in all the wrong areas when your sweaty and dancing. Plus it works as a great odor eater.
5. Bring a tarp. It looks like we might get some rain this weekend, nice to have a dry place to sit under.
6. Bring a small propane grill. Weber makes one for like 50 dollars. Have everyone in your group chip in 10-15 bucks. We have one we bring to every festival we goto. They are easy to transport and make grilling way easy if you cant find firewood. You would not believe how many people have come to borrow ours at festivals.
7. If you have prescription medications you need to bring, make sure they are in the prescription bottle with your name on the label. Security can confiscate them otherwise. It has happened.
8. Bring sandals. From the looks of it in some pictures I have seen of this park, if it rains here, its gonna get really muddy. Sandals are alot easier to keep clean and dry off, and wont normally tear up your feet if they get wet. This is also where the baby power can help.
9. Bring non-parishables to eat. If your bringing a cooler, and bringing things like hotdogs, dont depend on there being a place to find ice. Just in case there is an ice shortage, bring food that will not spoil as well.
Some suggestions: Granola Bars, Canned foods (chef boy r dee), canned fruits, chips, trail mix, etc.
10. Have fun, and see you there! |
good call with the grill. Does anybody have one or is somebody willing to buy one and we all pitch in for the cost. Only 2 days left folks. We have to figure this out.
Also good call on the baby powder however I think 'Gold Bond' is the shizaa. It works just like baby powder but it is medicated as well, so it stops all the gross stuff that happens. Just a suggestion
