you just reminded me of my cusin, ok this might sound soo wierd and funny but its true...he mixes songs with mp3 player and windows media player...LOL i know, but i have to admit that hes Getting really good at it, hes been doing it for about a year now, so He does mix quiet good...hehe. Oh by the way he now has decks and stuff, he bought it recently(£500 all together), but I havn't been to hes house to check it out yet :/. He tell me that its just amazing!! arghh i want one too

haha how could he manage that?? he must have proper skills hehe but mp3 playes and windows media playes have not got some important functions that a proper dj mixing program would have. but let him do it if he enjoys it
I reckon you dont need to buy a brand new turn-table, you can buy a decent second-hand one for about 200 quid, + good speakers if you're lucky
