From a business perspective, if I were Made, id do the same. It seems there is so many ppl who think $40 is a bargain it dont matter what they charge at the door. Hell, id make it $50 at door and no pre-sale for $30. But just because they charge that price doesnt mean I have to go or any of u have to go. YOU CHOOSE TO GO DESPITE THE PRICES BEING WHAT THEY ARE. This doesnt just apply to AVB but any DJ really. At some point, u gotta realize these ppl are just DJs who come around more than once a yr and it aint a big deal missing them, especially if it aint in ure budget, or even if it is, its not something worth paying for even if u had the money to go. Personally, none of these Djs are worth more than $30. In Europe or elsewhere in the world, they play for $5-20 yet since its "AMERICA" ppl decide that even $50 is cheap for an event like this. Last I checked, it was the same music, same type of club, except they have a better vibe and attitude at the party. The reality is when ppl pay covers like this, its not cause the DJ costs that much or are even worth that much, its how much ppl perceive these DJs to be actually worth and their desire to want to be a part of it all. |

Totally agree with you on this one and it translates to all genre's of music. Since we the people are willing to pay the price they will charge it and each year it will go up just a little more, not to much, just enough for you to be okay with it until it gets totally out of control. Soon it will $100 for a 3 hour set in the bathroom of the McDonald's in Times Square
