Er... what? I don't even know who you are.
Is it so freaking hard to realise that when I comment on something it's not a personal attack against you? Do you really think I'd waste my time listening to something only because I wanna be an asshole and post negative feedback without any reason? Are we ever going to progress anywhere if all we get is praise?
The software sound is something I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's because the elements don't have enough fx or something, it just doesn't sound as "warm" as the original. Or maybe it needed a different kind of pad. I don't know what you did to the update because I can't listen to it right now but I'm guessing this surrounding pad you added is going to fix at least some of it.
Woah, calm down, I wasn't considering them personal attacks, I was more commenting on your general demeanor. And of course Im not counting on praise all the time, I want feedback more than anything so I can continue to improve. But from the general tone of your messages all I ever seem to feel is negativity. Maybe its the lack of elaboration. The best way to give constructive criticism is to start off with a positive and then follow up with the negatives or vice versa like:
That sounds pretty good, but there's still some software sound to it.
or
It still sounds like it was made with software. It sounds pretty good though, keep working on it.
Showing encouragement as well as criticism makes it seem like you are actually trying to help and not just spouting off negative comments. That's all I'm saying.
About the loop yeah I didnt spend nearly as much time as DT8 and Koglin probably did when they arranged and mastered the elements, I was going for the lead sound and then just loaded up some presets I made before to complete it.

So would it be premature to say that VAZ modular and spectrasonics atmosphere/trilogy are the answer to the original question this thread asked (how to get phat sounds form software)? Or is the Virus/JP8000/x hardware synth still consistently better in some department?

Maybe you'll find it out when you try to program your own sounds with one of those spectrasonics synths?
