Off day and I feel fat for it. Yah, rest is good, but I still don't like sitting around doing nothing. Starting a new diet soon. 2.5x body weight worth of protein a day in addition to creatine. Here's to gaining ten lbs of muscle and hopefully looking like a beast at 210 by then

Well here is the thing: I played varsity hockey my freshmen year at a pretty big Hockey East school. From my personal experience, since I never saw a game, my schedule was twice on the ice every day (3 hours) and a gym session whether more cardio, plyos, or lifting (1 hour). Normally this was a six day a week operation and one day rest. By the time I had heard that I wasn't going to have a spot, I was skating four hours a day five times a week, and lifting one to two hours daily. I always felt I was pushing my body, but never beyond the limit. At no time were trainers or coaches saying like take a day off. You only took days off if you were hurt and even at that you could do a light morning skate. And the only real days off were once the season ended.
