Cost him 20 mil by all accounts :/

well then.. Alonso took it. not in big style, but he drove a very good race

props to the Mclaren team, finally they got a well deserved one-two finish.
big ups to Michael Schumacher as well. i don't know how he managed to fend off Fisichella, but he did.

Didn't see the race but glad i didn't, can't say i like Alonso at all. Also, anyone else thinks the current points system values reliability a bit too much?

Talking about reliability, Tiago Monteiro retired... for the first time. The record of consecutives finishes by a rookie stays at... 18 races

congrats to Alonso
It'll be interesting to see the last 2 races, McLaren is not going to let that constructor's cup go now that they're 2 points on top of Renault.

I don't really like Alonso either but id like to congratulate him on being the youngest champion in F1. It now should be clear to McLaren that the Constructors cup must be won and hopefully next year to be on top form from the very beginning as it all adds up in the end. Hope to see Ferrari improve next year as it will be apparently be Schumachers final year

Good stuff for Alfonso.
I rate him, he is a worthy champion. Young, aggressive, and devilishly quick. And without a doubt he has improved markedly over his time at Renault, his success cannot be attributed solely to the car.
Bad luck for Kimi though, next year maybe.

Nice one Fernando!

So nice to see a new generation of young Schumacher beaters! Unlucky for Kimi, maybe McLaren can get it right next year! Ron Dennis says this: (Quote - Autosport website) "Fernando Alonso must still prove himself as the sport's number one driver this season, despite clinching the World Championship in Brazil on Sunday." Poor looser Ron!!!

Guess its back to square one for most with the in coming of the 2.4 V8's, coupled with the suggested new qualifying format! Makes for an interesting year for '06!

Other than giving a bonus point for retiring I can't really think of a system that wouldn't

It's been an absolutly dreadful season. Credit to Alonso, fantastic performances all season, but I'm never going to look back on this one with fond memories. McLaren deserve the constructers tho, outstanding achievement on the car.

Pretty good race by recent standards.
Storming drive by Kimi, 17th to 1st with a pass on the final lap.
Some pretty good driving all through the pack, Alonso was also aggressive as always. Webber did well to put that car 4th too.
