God I am laughing at that Hawtin fiasco at Nocturnal at WMC!
I wonder what inspired that confrontation.

Ya… kind of whack… strange things have happened in Miami.. like the Advent breaking up years ago.
I can’t wait to get the lowdown from some friends of mine who just came back… and the promos from Joel Mull coming my way.. woot!

Finally I get to check out this DJ Murphy you're always raving about
I was listening to this set earlier today... it is very good but it is not Murphy's usual fare.. a bit mellower but I think highly appropriate for an opening set for Dave Clarke!
He plays some dark techy eletro-ey stuff and even some disco biz.. I am not certain but I think he might have even played Barbara's I Love You tune. Towards the end he also drops the Heckmann & Henze 2006 reissue of Out of Control.. I got it myself last week.. classic tune!
Murphy does still scratch a bit though, just not as much as most of the other sets of his I have heard. Tons more on technopride.net

I have read other witness accounts of it.. hehe.. but this is what dj mag wrote initially:
Hawtin Club Trouble
Words: Terry Church
Techno DJ Richie Hawtin was bundled out by security midway through his set at Nocturnal in Miami on Friday 24 March.
It is not known what caused the fracas, but the club’s security were so adamant to get Hawtin out of the club that they headlocked him, and dragged him towards the entrance.
Hawtin’s friends and fellow DJs eventually came to his aid – Adam Beyer (who Hawtin was DJing back-to-back with) even stopped the music – and Richie emerged unscathed, although a little shaken.
An eyewitness said: “Miami’s door staff are notoriously dumb, but to headlock one of the world’s most famous techno DJs and try to kick him out of his own party is just too stupid for words.
“He was acting a bit lairy, but the reaction by the bouncers was overzealous and irrational.”
Hawtin continued to play the rest of his set, which was reportedly one of the best of the Winter Music Conference.
