I did the same with progressive a bit over a year later (cos hey, theres fuck all difference). Its about refining yourself. You start off simple (trance) and move on as you learn more about the world of music out there.
To say that I never had a real passion for something as I don't still like it, is about the stupidest comment ever. Thats like saying that because I don't love an ex girlfriend years after we broke up, I never truly loved her.
Isn't it healthy to have a ever changing taste in music? I think so. Some people obviously are content with sticking with trance (or one style) for ever. I find those people boring.
And I will judge people based on thier music tastes; if thats how they want to identify with me. So thats 90% of people on this board, everyone other than those I know in person and connect with them on a different level now.
Music is a massive part of my life, and fuck anyone that can't keep up. I'll be jaded because I don't want to just listen to anything. I don't want to listen to what "most" people listen to, because "most" people are fucking stupid and ruin it for me.
So to finish off: Trance is an boring genre, I dont give a fuck if its got better or worse, its still fucking trance. Its there as its accessible and "fun" early in your musical journey. You find new stuff and move on. If you don't move on, you obviously have an inability to recognise artistic achievement outside the confines of simple music. |
Wow, that was possibly the worst rebuttal I have ever read. In every paragraph you've basically just proved that everyone was right about you.
You only have one view and are unable to see it from someone else's perspective. That is a major sign of ignorance so I'm not even going to bother replying back to specific things. Your comments are egotistical, naive and self centred.
I have no problems with people liking a specific type of music but I do have a problem with people that are convinced something is shit, and that their musical genre of the time is the best thing since sliced bread

Just one day you woke up & said oh i hate trance now when the day before you had a passion for it? hahaha IT WAS NOT A REAL PASSION, because if it was real you would still like it.
fkn oath its good to have a diverse taste in music, as do I. However Im not going to JUST STOP LIKING a genre I loved years before, heck I even still love 80's music & old school glamrock/metal, etc.

Funny analogy comparing passion for music with an ex. lol.
It isnt stupid its a fact, IF YOU HAVE A TRUE PASSION that means you love your music, etc which many people DO NOT HAVE A REAL PASSION for their music.

Im not sure on Armin's mix. Just played that mix because Tyas brought it up to speed production wise, the other mixes sound very dated imo.
