Man, There is nothng that beats the feel of vinyl. You are always in control. When you mix with CD's, you dont have the same feeling. Some may disagree with me. My advise is to stick with vinyl. If your problem is related to the fact that you simply cannot find the tunes you want, there is a program out there called Final Scratch, which takes MP3's and puts them to vinyl using this new technology. Stick with vinyl man, you cant go wrong

Everybody spins vinyl when they start out..well most people anyways..like me, I started liking CD's when I bought my first pioneer cdj-100's.Now I burn the vinyl to cd mainly its more convienent for me to carry them to gigs and I dont have to worry much about them wearing out after alot of play. I'm prepared..flame suit on.

| quote: | | mostly becuase vinyl is what the DJ started out with and when someone hears "DJ", vinyl is what pops up in their mind at first... at least in my mind.... |
That has to be the lamest excuse for mixing on vinyl I've ever heard. Shit man, you give vinyl lovers a bad name. You can't seriously say you mix on vinyl just because people expect you to because your a DJ.
Sorry, I'm not trying to flame you or nothing and I guess I understand what your trying to say. I'm assuming its more of an 'authentic' DJ experience for you to be mixing on vinyl than CDs which is fair enough. It's all about personal choice after all.
I'm just a bit over the whole 'vinyl will make you look cooler and get you more respect' mentality that a lot of DJs with xx grand invested in records seem to expect everyone else to buy into. I'm happy to agree on it sounds (marginally!!) better and it feels nicer, but ffs give the whole 'image' thing a rest. Not all of us are that insecure.
PLUR etc... =)
