But last night i was at Buffalo Wild Wings (sports bar, with multiple TVs), and only 1 bigscreen had the WS, the other channels were showing the World Series of Poker. My friend and I arrived early to get a table b/c we figured the place would fill up. It was half-full all night, and we left during the 3rd inning.
Going out our car I was lamenting about the lack of patronage, considering it's the World Series. My friend pretty much nailed it on the head when he said "well no one cares about Astros or ChiSox... it's only when Boston or New York (yankees) play that the place gets packed." |
I think its just the fact that ESPN and the media in general has brainwashed so many people over the years with countless Bios, documentarys, history lessons, and just constantly beating in our brains about the Red Sox and the Yankees.
People cant say that the white sox get no exposure cause their in the midwest, because look at the Cubs.
Its pretty much MLBs fault for not really getting behind the White Sox(and astros too actually)storyline over the years.I wonder if theyve wanted to stay away from the Black Sox scandal just so the whole discussion of Shoeless Joe in the hall wont bother Selig.
congrats to the White Sox
