If you believe that American men are somehow more "masculine" and manly compared to "euro fags", I'd like to remind you that American men are the ones that experienced feminism, which has become a part of US culture -- and has had an enormous influence in weakening any "manly" behavior or attitudes.

The Greeks or Italians or Spaniards may be OK with touching each other, but they never experienced any feminism, so they are in fact more manly than Americans. In fact some of their behavior at parties, or in the workplace, would shock the tame and soft-spoken American male.

i definitely see your point and i've actually always been very humored by the difference i've seen in my own observations between American-Italians, and actual Italians born and raised in Italy. Just how the U.S. portrays Italians is funny. I mean look at "Tony Suprano" for christ's sake. American-Italians are so macho and "manly" and obnoxious, but if you go to Italy (not that I've been, but I just assume because of the whole "Eurofag" behavior) you'll see men hugging each other and even doing the whole kiss on the cheek and they are quite comfortable with that stuff. I always thought it was funny how American-Italian guys over here seem to think they need to act like they are in the mafia or some shit and expect wives and sisters to be in the kitchen at all times making them a sandwich or canollis (sp?).

But I won't lie, I'm a product of my society here in America. I'm not a TOTAL wanker, like what the rest of the world believes in, but I am guilty of having some typical ignorant American views. I think it's kinda "gay" how the soccer players act and I think men's fashion in Europe is faggy and just their behavior as you describe. I think it's a turn off. But at the same time, I don't like overly macho assholes either, but I wouldn't feel comfortable if I saw my boyfriend and his buddies like having a big group hug for 5 minutes during a basketball game. lol

I'm actually arguing the opposite -- the Italians who live in Italy are in fact more macho and manly than American-Italians. Things are not what they seem!

Look, just ask Lucid what she thought of Greek men when she was in Greece. In Italy, for instance, when a plumber comes in to fix something in a woman's apartment, he tells her, "I've left some instructions for your husband." He automatically assumes she has a husband. The type of male chauvinism that happens in the Old World would be unthinkable in the New World.

The kind of street fights, sexual harassment, etc. that happen in Europe would never even be contemplated by the well-behaved American male.

That's because you live in a culture where everything has sexual connotations (why, because sex is taboo, so people must find an outlet). Interestingly, this does NOT mean that the males are more masculine or macho.

oh i was just talking about social behavior between men in europe vs. in america. not like they're actual beliefs about women, etc... i see your point about euros being more masculine in that aspect. i know american men seem to be programmed to think they need to act a certain way in public and stuff like that. i've been programmed to think that's how they should act too, but i also am comfortable with it.

i still stand by what is say though about men's fashion in europe being a little on the girly side. i mean, most designers are fags anyway, so i blame it on that. hahahah ok sorry...

i also still stand by the fact that i just dont really find it necessary and would be put off if i saw my boyfriend hugging a big group of sweaty friends after one of them made a 3 point shot in a basketball game. lol

i love the "Man Law" Budlight commercials. lol the one where they decide to "cheers" their beer bottles from the bottom of the bottle because if they do it with the tops of their bottles, their spit touches and that technically constitutes as a kiss.

Americans see "sexual demons" in every little thing or situation, even in something totally irrelevant. And they constantly try to "purge" these "demons," which is a source of great amusement to the rest of the world.

For example, America is the only country where 3-year-old girls must wear tops. Or, a father and a son never touch or kiss each other. If I approach a girl on the street to ask her something, she automatically assumes I want to have sex with her.

i think you're making some pretty broad based assumptions, that's not entirely true about 3 year olds having to have shirts and men and sons not being able to hug or touch. that varies with each family, you can't speak for an entire country about that.

and my comment about mens' clothing has nothing more to do with the simple fact that it's my taste, which is just opinion based. let's not get all technical about it. i like a nice clean cut (banana republic style) outfit for men. some faded jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers or flip flops...or some basketball shorts and a tank. that's just me though. i think mens' fashion has gone a bit too far. i was just throwing that into the equation because i follow fashion and i think that euro men dress a little too girly for me. jeans are always tight and i hate those colorful pumas with matching shirts...i mean, some guys know how to sport it, but personally, i wouldn't like it on my boyfriend.

anyway, let's not get too off the subject...back to fagball. lol i mean "futbol"

/obnoxious american
